How Does An Embryoscope Impact IVF?

So, let’s get a little bragging out of the way first. Our lab here at IRMS is one of the best IVF laboratories  in the world. That isn’t hyperbole. Dr. John Garrisi PhD, our lab director, is a world-renowned expert in the field of reproductive medicine.  He has been at the forefront of the cutting-edge science that is Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) since the early 1980’s, where his team was the first to successfully apply micromanipulation techniques to assist fertilization in humans.  That success led to ICSI, a technique that is now commonplace in the successful IVF treatment of couples suffering with Male Factor Infertility

He is a sought-after lecturer and consultant around the world and has assembled one of the most experienced group of embryologists in the United States. The IRMS lab has successfully treated thousands upon thousands of IVF patients and lovingly cared for our patients precious embryos.

So, any new technology that is introduced into the lab is done so with a lengthy vetting process and acute care, with the knowledge that it must pass our most rigorous of expectations. One such exciting technology we’ve implemented in our lab is our Embryoscopes.

What’s An Embryoscope, You May Ask?

It’s a fancy smancy incubator that uses time-lapse photography to continuously watch your embryo as it grows.  It allows our team to monitor the cell divisions within the embryo while it resides in the incubator.  The embryoscopes built-in camera takes pics at timed intervals that morphs into a super-cool video showing the development of the embryo at every critical stage.  The incubator also imitates the physiology of a woman’s body providing an optimal womb-link environment while your embryos are maturing in our lab.

So How Does This Change Your Life?
  1. Reduced Stress For Your Embryos
By being nestled in the hospitable and real-time viewable scope, we can observe your embryos continuously in an undisturbed environment, alleviating unnecessary stress.

  2. Embryo Selection
Our embryologists have decades of experience “grading” embryos and selecting the best candidates with the greatest chances of success.  Our experience coupled with our capacity to further analyze using preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) has led to some of the highest success rates in the country, even with patients that have been turned away from other clinics as they didn’t match their “benchmark” for likelihood of success.  Now, combining our experience, our PGT abilities and our embryoscopes technology together – we have the capacity to elevate the viability of success even further. Wow!
